Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD)

Misson and activities:

SMD is a family of organizations that are working together to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in Manitoba. All of the activities and services provided through SMD are in support of achieving SMD’s vision of “a community that supports the independence, participation and empowerment of persons of all abilities.”

Our organization has a policy for including people with disabilities among staff, volunteer workers and clientele.

We can assist with arranging wheelchair accessible housing and transportation

Our positions are accessible for people with disabilities

Our non-profit organization works at the local level.

Our organization is mainly run, controlled and represented by disabled people.
